As a community partner, Longevity Medical has done TWO Bare Necessities drives for The Singletons already this year. We asked him to share what foods are best when fighting cancer.
Q: What foods are best when fighting cancer?
Fighting cancer is hard. When you’re fighting cancer every part of your body and mind are hard at work. All this hard work requires calories and nutrients to happen help the body run efficiently.
Consuming enough healthy foods can be a challenge for some people undergoing treatment. Focusing on small nutritiously dense foods is a smart idea.
Soups made with bone broth as a base are great and very nutritious. Foods like avocados that contain easily digestible proteins and fats are also a good food to eat. The soft texture of avocados makes them quite versatile. Chocolate avocado pudding is surprisingly delicious. Avocados also add a nice creamy texture to healthy protein shakes. Lastly, try to avoid large intakes of simple carbohydrates and sugars.
These food items may taste good in the moment but typically provide little in terms of good nutrition.

Making sure that families have nutritious meals every month is a staple of The Singletons programs.
Not only does gathering the family around a meal during treatments help with relieving stress and promotes time together, but having prepped, healthy meals means that we know our families are getting the fuel they need to continue to fight.
