Ashley is our Community Outreach Intern, working on Volunteer Recruitment as well as managing Volunteer Groups interested in hosting Meal Preparation Events through our Singleton Kitchen program. Ashley came to Singleton Moms about two months ago. She is currently working three days a week here at the Singleton Moms office.
A junior at ASU, Ashley majors in Global Studies and is working towards a certificate in Human Rights. She is on a path to graduate a year early. After graduation, Ashley would like to join the Peace Corp and eventually hopes to go on to pursue a profession in Global Health as a Physician’s Assistant.
Ashley has an attitude of service. In high school she became a part of a Club AVID, which is dedicated to volunteering in the community. One of her most recent volunteer endeavors has been traveling to South Korea for 5 weeks this past summer to teach 5th graders English skills. She is currently part of a Club at ASU called FOX- which promotes responsible sexual health.
Initially interested in joining an AmeriCorps program, Ashley found Singleton Moms. Immediately the organization caught her attention. She appreciated and related to the fact that Singleton Moms serves families affected by cancer. She is excited to be a part of the organization’s success and growth.
Ashley’s plate is full. She is a full time student, and works part time as a server at Rosati’s Pizza in Chandler in order to pay for her education. She has taken on this internship as an addition to her busy schedule. Ashley has been determined to succeed since a very young age. Her initiative and work ethic is present as she contributes to Singleton Moms, bringing hope, help and practical support to struggling single parents battling cancer. We are glad she is with us!
